Passion, preparation and commitment —sound corny? Maybe to some, but not to anyone who knows or has worked with Susan Hirsch Lerner in the apparel, fitness or wellness industries.
From the time, Susan was a teenager showing horses, she had a sense of what it meant to compete and win! She left South Florida and attended Boston University majoring in Business. Having grown up with parents who were entrepreneurs, Susan knew from an early age that a “typical 9 to 5” corporate road was not part of her DNA.
The Lord and Taylor executive training program launched Susan’s career in the apparel industry. Realizing that product and branding defines a successful retailer, the manufacturing side of the business was calling her. And hence Susan’s sales career kicked off.
Creating a niche and a name for herself, the next 15 years Susan led business development for a variety of manufacturers, expanding their lines and brand awareness. Among many accomplishments, she built the kid’s division of Juicy Couture from $8M to $33M in just four years.
With a passion for transforming ideas into action, in 2010, Susan formed the SHL Group to share her knowledge with additional industries. SHL Group is a strategic consultancy firm, helping clients drive sales and profits through dynamic product placement and creative marketing tactics while also engaging internal resources and empowering talent.
Susan is a leader and effectual communicator with a proven track record for developing successful, collaborative partnerships with teams throughout an organization.
Susan’s passion and zest for life are contagious. Susan is a workout junkie who enjoys the outdoors with her husband Steve and dog Yoda. AND if you time it right, you just might catch Susan at the gym listening to Jimmy Buffet on her headphones, while humming the harmony to Cheeseburger in Paradise. (She can’t help it, those Floridian roots run deep.)
